It was during the Bonfire that Lainn decided to be the bigger person, and extended an olive branch --so to speak-- to Sachin. This conversation led to her telling him that she would take him on a hunt, to teach him what he needed to know after observing what he already has learned or what instinct has kicked in for him.
Val overheard the conversation, and suggested that this be the first group hunt to include not only the pack in its entirety, but their newly formed alliances, as well. Being that not everyone is comfortable with the use of portals, Lainn opted that their first hunt would begin in Rhy'din, one of the pack's many grounds there.
The moon, though not full, hung in the sky like a beacon and the air was still and relatively cool, considering that it was now, officially summer. Lainn had taken the time to sniff out a few of the regions that the MacBrides had for their hunting grounds before deciding on this particular one. There were reasons for this. For one, it wasn't so densly wooded that there was risk of too much sneaking up on the hunting party or risk of non-wolf memberrs getting lost during the hunt. And two, the ground smelled of a wide variety of creatures big and small, including some of the more challenging wildlife, such as large cats and moose. It was exactly the variety a pack needed for a hunt. Game as abundant.
Nearing the midnight hour, there was a distinct howl that echoed through the sky. Those with more keen senses would have no problems hearing the cry. Those with less keen senses might question whether they truly heard it or not, but there was a charge in the air. Something that made the hair along the back of one's neck stand on end with anticipation and excitement. If the hunt was really their thing. Another howl broke the silence. Lainn was calling pack and allies alike to her location, calling them to gather for this, the first MacBride group hunt.
At the edge of one of the hunting grounds of the MacBride pack, she was aleady in form. Clothes long since shed, she was no bigger a wolf than she was a woman with a red coat mottled with black, gray and white. Rump on the ground, she was seated patiently, waiting for those who wanted to join for the experience, to arrive. Ass arrivals began, tail beat against the ground in no specific rhythm and ears lifted attentively as the sounds of approach reached her.
[OOC- this is for any pack member or ally that wishes to join. This is just as opening, enough to give those who want to participate a chance to post their arrival to the area. On Wednesday, I will post the leave for the hunt, and on Friday I will post the conclusion of the hunt. Hopefully this gives everyong participating a chance to post at least once or twice. Feel free to post more than that, but please give others a chance to post and respond, too! I look forward to your replies and will be back on Wednesday to add the hunt!]

The moon hung over head a few slivers from a bloated white orb and even though Evelyn was not a wolf, it still called to her. Her magick side. Evelyn came down the stairs of the tower apothecary, from the room's above and made her way out the doors into the night. A howl echoed in the air, a lonely yet happy howl that deemed a beaconing of followers to respond. And respond they did, she heard howls from all corners. A shiver ran down her spine, but nothing like the shiver she got before she was attacked. This was different, an anxious anticipation of feeling.
Evelyn started walking, having donned a pair of flat strappy shoes. A short black pair of Capri - given the height difference in her and Lainn, and a purple tight turtle neck shirt that fit across her form like a glove almost. In the moons light her face twinkled, from the lip piercing, to the nose and the eyebrow - even her earrings caught the glint. She would be unable to sneak up on anything as much light as she caught.
She felt a pull, a tugging in a direction and she went with it. It lead her to a hollowed out area, the wood not so dense and it was rather open. She hesitated when she saw the wolf sitting there, tail thudding the ground. She had remembered Sachin said he was a wolf, was this one attached to a person as well or did she just walk into her own demise? The area was lively with night life, nothing gave her the impression that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the hairs on the back of her neck still rose bristly.
For the moment, silence was her ally and those lips did not move. Nor did she.

Quin knew what Lainn was up too. He always knew what she was up to, and when she annoyed that she was setting up a hunt - mainly to teach Sachin what to do - he knew he was to follow. Dressed like a human, he made it to the grounds and walked directly over to Hitch and brought a quick kiss to her forehead. He brought his hand down under her chin and lifted it up to look into her eyes for a moment before he went to stand off in the distances. His arms crossed over his chest as he waited to see who showed up. When they showed up and what may happen tonight. The man was not here for the hunt, while he would enjoy the death; he was here to as a watcher and protector of the children, and woman, running around the grounds. In Quin's mind, a new pup was a child.
Quin nodded to Evelyn for a moment before he turned his eyes out to the forest to take it in. The man really didn't look like he was ready to hunt or fight. He was topless, again, with a pair of slacks on. He did wear combat boots, which were not for running but good for fighting. His wolf form was what worked best in running after all. One of his fingers was off his finger and being twisted slowly between his thumb and index finger.

The howl was heard that call. Something she often didn't feel. For her the connection to the wolf seemed more distant than she would ever leave other's to think. Even now she had been away from the other's as she always seemed to be gather's the information they needed for other things. She was in one of her meditation spots hands over her face letting the spirits come to her. She felt it - that something nudging in the back of her mind which told her the pack needed her.
The breath dropped her back into her body pulling her from that spot she had left her body. Standing she brought herself back into her shoes and made her way towards where she heard them. Blonde hair was scattered this way and that and she seemed very dishevel at the moment. To her the hunt was something not expected but needed all the same. It made packs come together and that was the point of them.
Hand clinched the necklace she wore wrapping tightly around it as she prayed. She was giving a prayer for their pack to make sure they would keep together and no injuries would come - and hopefully above all else - they would find their pray and not be hunted themselves.

Most of the time he seemed to not be there having felt the need to work outside of things to get items together for the pack. Even now he was coming from a work related thing that had him and a few other's posing nude with rugby equipment placed strategically to cover their junk. It may of been the most gay thing he ever did but it paid the bills and kept the family afloat. After coming back from the airport and getting a text he knew someone had made the howl for the family to come.
It was the moment he pulled into the house they he could feel the tension in the air. He'd start ripping off his clothing and letting himself go into wolf form. After the day he needed to get himself a hold of some blood. Sniffing into the air his paws started onto the ground quickly. He could feel the pack, his pack, his blood calling for them. Each stride taken brought him closer until he finally was there with the rest. Seeing who was there before him, his brother, he wouldn't just sit still.
Already he was bringing himself quickly onto his brother sending his back paws onto the man's lower back to knock him over. A loud growl was heard as he did this that tail on the huge silver wolf started to wag. He was happy that the group was finally getting the hunt together after a long break.

Sachin had been the most nervous of this hunt as this was the first one to be included in a group. He was ready for it and learn from those that had been helping him. He headed outside when he heard the howl. It was the call that he had been waiting for. He was still waiting for his brother on that talisman to help him shift with his clothing on and in tact when he returned back. Anyways, he had made it to an area where he could at least made sure his clothes were in a spot where he could find him again. He would start running and shift within seconds.
The black wolf would start running over to where the source of the howl was. He was going to be late and Lainn was not going to be a happy wolf! He used those those new senses of his to find her and the others. He would find Quin and those there. Anxious to get the hunt started, his tail was twitching like crazy and also had a mind of its own sometimes. He would wait for what the orders were.

Lainn looked to those who arrived. First, Evelyn. It was easy to sense that fear, it radiated from the woman like an aura. Very cautiously, Lainn appoached, ears relaxed and tail wagging subtly to let her know it was okay, until she could get close enough to dip her head beneath a hand or against a leg in an affectionate manner. It was by Evelyn's side that she held until Quin arrived, and went to him in a much more confident manner, being that he knew exactly who she was. The kiss on the head received a lap of tongue before he got too far away. There was one in particular that she was waiting for. This hunt was more for his benefit and he had not yet shown.
Dove and Keir both received nods from the mottled red wolf. She was just about to call the hunt to the ready when Sachin finally decided to get his slow moving ass there. Golden eyes narrowed dangerously at him, she stood on all fours nd gave a low growl of warning. Even a pup would know the warning. You're on thin ice. It'd only take one misstep and she'd be all over him.
That was all the longer she was waiting. Anyone who had yet to be there would either catch up or miss them completely. Lainn's head thrown up in the air, a howl announced the start and she took off through the sparse woods at a full run. She knew that Keir and Dove would have no problems keeping up. Even Quin in his human form would keep up well enough. Sachin was the one she was keeping an eye out on.
It didn't take long; a few hundred yards into their run, she stopped and brushed the ground with her nose. There were various scents; rabbit, squirrel, buck, even some sort of jaguar. The latter an amusing thought to send Sachin after, and she might have if it was just them, but she'd not do that to the rest of them. Honing on the buck, she waited for the others to pick up the same scent (mostly Sachin) before following its path around a copse of trees and down a hilly incline, slow and patient. it wasn't all that far. Given the hour, it was likely close to its den. And what a beauty it was. Tall and proud, standing at the bed of a creek. Its head snapped quickly up with a flicker of ears beneath its heavy antlers. It was aware. It knew they were there, even if on the outskirts.
Lainn waited for Keir and Dove to spread out in other directions and nudge Sachin to come with her as they skirted opposite the pack leader and his daughter. Keeping heads low and movements slow, silent, watching the deer stand in wait, watching for the sign of flight. A last moment eye contact with Keir, seeing him and Dove in place, Lainn broke through the shrub and under brush with a ripping snarl and growl. The buck jumped, instantly heading the other way. Right towards Keir and hopefully Dove. Even if it, at the last moment, the buck managed to divert path, it'd be too late. They'd all be there to take him down.

She froze, her body a statue as she watched the redden wolf approach her. Although she couldn't tell who from who in their forms, she did manage to get a vibe that this was alright. She stilled herself, her palm outstretched and facing the ground as the redden wolf of Lainn pushed her head into its wait. She felt her fur beneath her hand, soft and thick. Her fingers dug in gently - it was suddenly a thrill to touch something so wild and free. Slowly she crouched down, her other hand coming to meet and meld against the fur of the tail thudding carnivore. She looked up, watching other's arrive on foot and on fours. She was becoming more relaxed now, safer feeling. The redden wolf left her side, approaching Quin and Evelyn stayed where she crouched watching her depart.
When the last wolf appeared, her eyes darted to the redden wolf as the growl was evident. It sent a rash of goosen flesh to spread across her arms and legs like a cold chill had settled in the summer night. She stood, a spike in the air had caused her to gain her footing and like that the redden wolf had taken flight on foot darting through the trees. She watched as others joined - having been glad she did track when she did have school she was soon to follow.
However fast she thought she was, was no comparison to the wild on fours with the stamina of lean muscle to guide them, Evelyn was an awkward balance being only on two legs. She did manage to follow the energy if not the disappearing hind legs into foliage, before all became still and silent, even their footfalls failed her ears. She stooped and stooped behind a thick tree, the grunts of the deer heard over the babbling brook. She pressed hard against the bark of the tree. This was their hunt even if she was allowed witness. There was nothing more she could do but watch, and experience.

The second Keir knocked Quin to the ground a loud laugh came from him. Quin rarely went into his wolf form, for private reasons, but seeing his brother brought out the wolf in him. It was a roar of a moment as his body reshaped itself from human to black wolf. Those eyes lost their blue and went completely gold. Each movement stretched as he worked out his muscles for a moment. His body coming toward Keir to start to take him down. Weight onto the man’s side. Quin was maybe as tall in size as Keir, but he did not have the body mass as the grey wolf and the push was more playful then active. When Lainn set the release call he released with the pack. His body moving quickly across the ground as he kept a distances behind Lainn and the pup. The man kept his ears high and his eyes focused on the area around them. Quin was playing guardian for the moment. He stopped through a few yards in noting that Evelyn, the human of the group, was behind them. Stopping then as he kicked a hard leg into the ground. His gold eyes sparkling as from the woods came a large brown bear. First it looked to Quin and then took off back toward Evelyn then. Before Evelyn could respond, the head slipped under her and lift her up onto his back. Hopefully Evelyn would be smart enough to grab onto its back. Quin shook his head, and a whisper came through her head: ‘Trust the bear… treat it like a horse’. Being that the bear was in Quin’s control, it meant no harm to Evelyn and allowed her the chance keep up with the pack. The bear, being a part of Quin, would smell like a MacBride and keep her safe by being so.

The hunt came to an end with the mature buck being brought down. Lainn had torn into the throat of the beast while others of the hunt attacked legs and spine. Wolven teeth held fast in the breathing way of the buck while it kicked and squirmed, fighting for life until, with a final sigh, life left the creature's body. Bloodied maw released the throat of the buck and golden eyes cast around for her charge, to find Sachin nowhere in sight. Either he had been stupidly wounded or fled from the hunt. A low growl emitted, announcing her displeasure at this. The pup would have to face her sooner than later.
for the moment, Sachin was forgotten and attention turned to Keir, pack Alpha. As Alpha, he had rights to first pick of meat from the buck's body, and so Lainn backed off and waited.

Evelyn was beside the tree, her palm rested against the thick bark as she caught her breath from the run. The wolves, most of them had gone forward and she would have some catching up to do. Her attention was forward, her breathing hard and her heartbeat loud so it came as no surprise she did not hear the bear come up behind her. Suddenly she was airborn as the head slid between her legs and hoisted her up off the ground, just as a scream was about to rip from her throat, a voice filled her skull and she stilled. Her hands gripped the thick course fur of the large animal, her heels holding tight to the sides of its massive neck.
